From the Love of Beautiful and Ordinary Things

“Oh, that’d be fun—someday.” We all know those ideas that live in the back of our minds—the ones we label “someday.”
For me, From the Avenue was that idea. It lingered quietly for years, showing up whenever I came across a lovely notebook, the perfect spoon, a beautifully etched cocktail glass, or the most gorgeous cabinet knob.
Maybe it’s a little odd to love the most random of everyday objects, but to me, those are the tiny details we interact with daily that subtly shape how a space and a moment feel. They’re small, but they matter.
As much as I love my career, I’ve always known it wasn’t my end-all. My husband and I are big dreamers, and we’ve long talked about starting our own business, whatever that might be. So call it perfect timing... or maybe the most unlucky timing—but this shop came to life just as the studio I’d worked at for 8 years abruptly and unexpectedly shut its doors.
If you’re here, following along as I navigate life with two littles, a freelance motion design career, and the winding path of building this shop, thank you.
