Behind Our First Collection

Behind Our First Collection

Inspired by Motherhood, Spring, and the Handmade

In a season when motherhood is especially celebrated, I reflected on what I was looking for the most in this chapter of life. Two things stood out: practicality and beauty. I wanted the things around me to serve a purpose, but also bring a little joy just by being there. Useful, but lovely. And I had a feeling I wasn’t alone in that.

From the Avenue’s first collection came together with that exact thought in mind. As a mom of two little ones, I’m drawn to the things that make daily routines feel smoother or more special—like our ceramic to-go mugs, handmade by an artist in the U.S. They’re beautiful on their own, but also allow the most flexibility due to their ability to take on the go for morning drop offs or running quick errands.

Naturally, Spring was also at the forefront of my mind. There’s something about this season that feels like a soft reset—fresh air, longer days, open windows, and a sense of lightness. I wanted that feeling to come through in each item, whether it’s refreshing with our seasonal-inspired organic soaps, or the spring-scented candles that add that bit of freshness to the air.

Something I hope will always remain true about this shop is our deep appreciation for the small and handmade. There’s beauty in things made with intention. Items like our hand-carved ceramic catch-all dishes or Turkish towels aren’t just pretty—they’re also useful, tactile, and crafted by people who care about what they make.

This first collection is a reflection of where I’m at right now—a mom, an artist, a small business owner—trying to bring together the practical with the beautiful, and invite others into that mix.
